Monday morning I woke up and got ready to go to the city with Robert for breakfast. After eating I made my way to my Czech lesson to try to get back on track after the holidays. After my lesson I made my way to school.
At school I did my usual hanging out and talking with friends. After lunch I went to the principal’s office to talk to him about the possibility of me going to Ireland in April. Since it was after Christmas, that meant that he would be enforcing the rule of pretending not to speak English. He didn’t have much time to talk so it ended up being a very fast paced conversation, but I was proud that I understood everything that he had said.
After school I met up with Gigi to get coffee and a snack. We didn’t have much time, so we just chatted for a little bit and then went our separate ways to prepare for our dance classes. I was sad to be going to my last class of the year. My last lesson probably wasn’t one of my best lessons, but it was still fun.
After my lesson my mom picked me up like usual and we went home. We had some dinner before going down to the club for awhile. When we got back I took a shower, did some yoga, and started to work on filling out the permission form so that I could go to Ireland.
Tuesday I woke up and got a bit dressed up so that I was ready to go to Zora’s grandma’s funeral. In the middle of school I had to leave to meet the family for the funeral. I had gotten the time wrong, so I had to rush out of school.
We ended up getting there a little early, but that gave me the chance to meet some more of the family who I hadn’t met yet. I made sure to say hello to everyone I knew before the service started. I of course didn’t understand anything, but it felt very special to be there since it’s a family thing.
After the service we went to visit the family graves again and we put candles and flowers everywhere. After everyone took their moment visiting the graves we went back to the parking lot and said goodbye to most everyone.
Then all of the close family went to a restaurant to have a big lunch. We had a few toasts to remember Zora’s grandma and then we had a huge lunch. I got svičková for my lunch and it was so filling.
After talking with everyone, Robert had to leave for a meeting at school and I decided to go with him so that I could catch a train home since Zora would be in the city for awhile longer. We ended up leaving a little bit late so I had to sprint 10 blocks to make it to my train on time.
When I got home I hung out and did some yoga. Then I got the urge and motivation to do some more research about being an au pair when I finish high school. I found a big site and made a spreadsheet and list of all of the countries that they offer that I would like to go to. Then I called Gigi and Juliana for awhile before my parents got home from the city. We made our plans for the next morning and for the weekend before going to bed.
Wednesday morning we woke up at our usual time instead of getting up early for school. Everyone was kind of a mess in the morning, so we left late, and I only managed to braid half of my hair. First we dropped off Ruda at school and then me.
After school I met up with Gigi to run a few errands before going to get her nails done. Sasha joined us after Gigi’s nails were half done. Then we went to meet Ana and go to a cafe for awhile. We all got a big ice cream to share and some coffees. Then Gigi had to go home to talk to her family, so we went to get some pizza.
After eating we all said goodbye and I took the train home. For dinner it was just me and Robert, so he tried to make something new. We both agreed that it was missing something, and could use a bit of work. Later Zora and Ruda came home and they finished the dinner that Robert had made. After dinner I worked on my blog a bit and then made my plans for the weekend. Thursday I went to school like normal, but our English lesson was canceled, so we didn’t go to PE either meaning I was out of school really early. I went and bought a new Czech book for my lessons since I was starting to get close to finishing the first book.
Then I went home and took a shower and did some yoga. I was the only one at home for awhile which meant that when the doorbell rang, I had to answer it. I was nervous, but I did my best to speak in Czech, and I actually understood!
Later Robert came home and I watched some Netflix while he talked to the guy who had come by earlier. When they were done looking at the other house, we had some dinner and went down to the club. I got home around 10 and talked to some friends before going to bed.
Friday morning I woke up and went to my Czech lesson. I was just about done with my first workbook and I was so happy. I went to school for the rest of the day and then I went with Shri to meet up with Gigi. We had felt bad that it hadn’t worked out for her to come with all of us the day before so we decided to take her to the cafe too. We spent about an hour in the cafe drinking coffees and eating cake. Then we went to a couple of thrift stores before saying goodbye to Shri. Then Gigi and I bought some snacks and made our way to the train station to go to my house.
When we got to my house we had some dinner with my family and then we talked on the phone with Juliana for awhile. Then Gigi went to bed and I stayed up until one in the morning texting some friends.
