Goodbye Aussies! Family Lunch.

So much love for this lady <3

Saturday morning Gigi and I woke up at 8 and got dressed. We grabbed the money and bag that my mom had left us, and we walked down to the village store. We got the bread we would need for the weekend, and then we headed back to the house for breakfast. After breakfast we packed up our things and Gigi, my parents and I all got in the car and drove to Prague.

When we got to Prague we said goodbye to my parents and went to the train station to meet Ryan (Florida). Then we grabbed a quick coffee while we waited for the next bus to the airport.

When we got to the airport we waited for Kat to arrive with her family and Jayson (Canada). We hung out for awhile in the airport all chatting and trying to put off saying goodbye. Finally we decided to leave Kat with her host family for her last goodbye so we said bye and left. We made sure to take lots of pictures, and text the other Aussies who were leaving from the Vienna airport.

After saying our goodbyes we went to catch a bus back to the city center. We missed one, so we had to wait awhile for the next one. Then when we tried to get on, the guy told us that we had to get on down the street, so we walked down to where he had told us. When we got there we looked up just to watch him drive off and not stop at all. So we waited a few more minutes and finally caught a bus back. We walked around a bit and met up with some other Prague kids before Gigi and I had to catch our train home.

We mostly just slept and hung out on the train home. When we got back to the city I said goodbye to her, and she and I went our separate ways home. I took the train to a different stop than normal so that I would walk home a little extra instead of taking a bus all the way to my house. When I got off the train I quickly organized my things and started the 30 minute walk home.

When I got home, my parents were still out so I made some snack and facetimed Kieu for awhile. Once my parents got home I said goodnight and went to bed.

Sunday morning we slept in until around 10 when we got up for breakfast. After breakfast I went to my room to read for awhile. After about an hour of relaxing my mom came to my room to ask me to help her make some more dumplings for another round of svičková. After the dumplings were made and we just had to wait for them to cook, so I went back to my room to hang out. When the grandparents were close to arriving I helped set the table and make sure everything was ready. We all ate soup and svičková before moving to the living room.

We hung out in the living room talking and drinking coffee for awhile, trying to digest our food and make room for cake. After awhile we were finally ready for the cake. I tried my best to speak in Czech on my own, and my grandparents even tried out their English!

When we were done with our cake we said goodbye and cleaned up from the lunch. Then all of us did our own thing for the rest of the evening. We had had so much to eat for lunch that we didn’t have dinner.

In my free time I watched some Netflix and called Gigi to make some plans for the upcoming week. It really

started to hit me, that the Aussies were really gone and all back home in Australia which was pretty sad, and crazy to think that I was almost half done with my exchange by that time!
