Sunday was another day of sleeping in before a quick breakfast. After breakfast I had some time to hang out in my room and color and catch up with people back home. Later, we had a big lunch that consisted of rabbit, that was from the neighbor, and savory dumplings that are made from leftover bread. We had to eat quickly to make sure we could take Ruda to his scouts camp on time. Once we had dropped Ruda off, we came home and got ready to play Kubb. We play Kubb with everyone from the club, in a field just up the street. Kubb is a game where you take a wood stick and you throw it and try to knock down the other team's blocks. We had drinks and some chicken that was cooked over a little fire. We came home and it was already almost time for bed!
Today, Monday, Zora left for a work conference for a few days, and Robert had to go to work. Since Ruda was gone, they didn't want me to just sit at home all day by myself. So I went down to Dana's (from the club) house once I woke up. I was a bit worried at first to go to her house for the day since she doesn't speak a word of English, but I was sure we would work something out. When I first got there she and Jakub (also from the club) showed me all of their parrots, and we played with the dog. After that she and I did a few crafts, including stamping and painting a shirt. I worked on learning my colors and a few shapes in Czech as we went. Then we had some lunch that she had been making, pork, cabbage, and more savory dumplings. After lunch we decided that we wanted some dessert, so we baked an apple cake. I was surprised to see how well it came out for how little I had understand during the process of making it. Then Jakub drove Dana to get a pedicure and then took me home. Now I have a bit of time to myself while my host dad is at a work party.
love the adventure you are opening to! sounds as if the language is coming along!
