Week Three of School

Shopping with Ana!

On Monday I went to school as usual. My teachers are trying to get me to do more and more in class as I stay here longer. My physics teacher gave me a packet about what they were doing in class this week, and it was in English! Unfortunately I haven't taken physics in the US yet, so I was still very confused about what they were learning. After school I met up with Ana and we went and got some food before going shopping in the city center. We ordered food in Czech along with asking for my shoe size in the stores (41, it's not the easiest number to say). After lots of shopping we met up with a girl that Ana had met who lives here in Brno and went on foreign exchange to Brazil last year. She was really nice and told us that we should all hang out a lot more often! When I got home, Ruda and I helped Zora pick walnuts and pears. Then I came inside and face-timed Elsa! In the evening, I braided my hair again and snacked on some grated pears that Zora had made. It was like eating really yummy chunky applesauce (pearsauce).

Tuesday marked the end of my first four weeks here! We got out of school early so I went to the city center by myself and wandered around. I also got myself some ice cream, dragon fruit flavored. I miss eating dragon fruit at my dad's house in the US, so that was really exciting for me. Then I went to the mall that is close by and went and bought some shoes that I have wanted for a long time. I could never justify buying them in the US because I dressed to casually for them. Then Robert took me home. It had been really windy so I decided to go pick up the walnuts, since I had a feeling there were more than normal. In the evening I worked on my blog and had dinner before going to bed.

Wednesday morning I started school a little later, so I got to go to breakfast at Robert's office like I had done in the summer. Then I took the tram to to school successfully for another day of classes. After school I took the tram to meet a lady to see if I thought she would be a good Czech tutor for me. I loved her teaching style and felt that I could learn a lot from her so when I got home I told my host parents I liked her and wanted to continue. After meeting her I went shopping for a couple of little things and got myself some mango ice cream. I really love ice cream so I will try it all! Once we were home, Zora and I picked walnuts before having dinner with the family. For dinner we had a soup that was full of all sorts of vegetables, and it was so good! After dinner, Robert's brother Ondřej came for the night since he has some work in Brno the next day.

Thursday I went to another day of school. In PE we practiced tucking and rolling (guess what dad, I still suck lol), then we went running in the park. There was an event for kids in the park so our teacher let us play the games with them, and we won some snacks! After school I wandered around the city, and got myself some more ice cream. I decided to branch out and I got strawberry, basil, balsamic, and it was soooooo good! Then I took the buses all the way to Lukovany all by myself. In my alone time at home I cleaned up my room, picked walnuts, and listened to music. I also started to pack and get ready for my weekend with the exchange students. I called my mom in the evening for a little while, then we had dinner, and I went to bed.

Friday morning I went to my first Czech lesson and then I walked to school. On my way to school I had a bit of extra time so I stopped in a cute little bakery for a pastry (which I of course ordered in Czech). Friday was probably one of the longest feeling days of school because I couldn't stop thinking about how excited I was to meet all of the inbounds that evening. After school I went to Ana's house to wait for Robert to get off work and drive us to Kroměříž!

Then it was the beginning of one of the best weekends!
