Friday evening, when I got back to Lukovany I went down to the club to meet my host parents who were already at Dana's birthday celebration. When I first walked into the club I had to get myself back into speaking Czech after speaking English for awhile. I slowly warmed up and was eventually able to understand my usual, bits and pieces of conversations. Everyone was asking me how my dancing lessons were going, and I told them they are good, but it's hard to understand. The whole evening we sat around the club, eating and socializing with everyone. Towards the end of the evening we sang some songs, and I tried to read the lyrics on my phone as we went. I was tired from a long day, and a long week, so I went back home around 1 in the morning. My host parents came home a little while after me when the party was over. I ended up staying up later anyways talking to some of my US friends, but at least I would get to sleep in the next morning!
Saturday, we slept in a little bit, and then we got up and had a little breakfast together. We mostly just hung out all morning long after breakfast resting from the party the night before. For lunch we had sheep/goat (yes it was something in the middle), spinach and potato dumplings. It was so good, but I was too full to finish. I worked on cleaning up my room a little bit while I watched some Netflix after lunch. Then in the evening it was time for Robert and I to work on bringing food down to the club for his birthday celebration too. After taking the food down, I hurried back home to change, before going back. Robert's party was similar to Dana's. We mostly hung out and ate and talked to everyone that came. I was proud of myself for being able to talk to Dana and her son Jakub in Czech of course, since they don't speak English. I was able to understand the gist and I was even able to laugh and understand their jokes. We went home late again after another long night of talking and hanging out.
Sunday, we slept in until almost 10 before getting up for breakfast. Today was the day that I was going to make another lunch for my family. This would be my last meal cooked in this kitchen before we started the remodel. I was supposed to start before breakfast, but I slept too long and had to start later. I was supposed to marinate the pork chops for awhile, but I hadn't left myself much time. After breakfast I set to work marinating, and boiling potatoes for my garlic mashed potatoes. I had invited Dana and her family, but she and Karl were going to be out of town, and her sons didn't want to come by themselves. I managed to get everything made by exactly 12! It wasn't as successful as my meatloaf, but it all turned out alright. After lunch, I just hung out and relaxed until dinner.
